Your donation will help refugees and at risk youths and women involved in The AjA Project in the following ways: process traumatic experiences, explore problems, find solutions and be advocates for change, develop positive identities and engage and immerse within the community.

WHY THE AjA PROJECT?
​
The AjA Project, founded in 2000, is an acronym for the phrase, “Autosuficiencia Juntada con Apoyo” (supporting self-sufficiency). The mission of The AjA Project is to provide photography-based programming to displaced and under-served youth to help students think critically about their identities, develop leadership skills and become agents of personal and social transformation.

I am supporting The AjA Project in San Diego as their mission mirrors my philosophy of using photography and writing to advocate change for women and youth. Currently, I am an intern at The AjA Project, working as a photoblogger for their events. By partnering with AjA, I feel I can begin my journey to making a difference in a positive way!
