BENEFITTING: The AjA Project. Your donation will help refugees and at risk youths and women involved in The AjA Project in the following ways: process traumatic experiences, explore problems, find solutions and be advocates for change, develop positive identities and engage and immerse within the community.
WHY THE AjA PROJECT?
The AjA Project, founded in 2000, is an acronym for the phrase, “Autosuficiencia Juntada con Apoyo” (supporting self-sufficiency). The mission of The AjA Project is to provide photography-based programming to displaced and under-served youth to help students think critically about their identities, develop leadership skills and become agents of personal and social transformation.
I am supporting The AjA Project in San Diego as their mission mirrors my philosophy of using photography and writing to advocate change for women and youth. Currently, I am an intern at The AjA Project, working as a photoblogger for their events. By partnering with AjA, I feel I can begin my journey to making a difference in a positive way!
